Helene Harder

During her studies of philosophy at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris disrupted by a serious accident, Hélène Harder directs her first little documentary films, all alone. She trained at UC Berkeley, then worked in New York and Paris before making her first feature documentary Ladies’ Turn in Senegal in 2012. Selected for festivals in more than 15 countries, awarded four times, the film is broadcast among others on TV5 Monde, Arte and the American public channel PBS. Hélène works as a videographer and photographer for dance companies, theatre, contemporary art venues and online media. She is currently working on two documentary projects, one Casamantes transmedia with the author and theatre director Karima El Kharraze, supported by the CNC France, the other «Fatna. A Woman Named Rachid” for whom she obtained a residence in the West Group.
